Short Bio:

I am Sara Grassi, an Italian freelance movement artist formed in New York and now based in Germany.

My career started in Italy with local companies performing in big regional theaters as the Manzoni Theater in Milan. Then, after moving to America, I’ve been performing at first as a soloist and then, for 3 years, as a principal with national companies based in NYC as Long Island City Ballet, Salvatore LaRussa Dance Theater, and Chloe Kastner Dance Company, with whom I performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival ’22.

I’m also a co-founder of Theatre Turnings, where I’m developing productions that integrate theatre into dance with spoken words and designed and structured movements into scenes: dance theatre productions created with the main aim to share and spread our vision on  everyday life matters.

During my career, I’ve also performed as a freelance in various projects in off and off-off-Broadway theaters in NYC and in regional theaters on the East Coast of America directed by Simona Rodano (Incanto Prod.), Valerie Mae Browne (American Liberty Ballet), Sandra Parks (Women in Dance), Elliott Ortiz (D10project), Edwin Kinter (Ballet for Young Audiences), LuLu LoLo, Anabella Lenzu, Michael Buoni (City Dance NY), Howie Seligman (The Solo Foundation), Alice Farley (AF Dance Theatre- performance with stills costumed designed), Morgiana Celeste Varricchio (Mosaic Dance Theater Company), David Fletcher, Gabriella Mack, Amish Daar (Hidden X Soul) and others.

I’m now working at the most award-winning park in Europe: Europa Park in Germany for the 2024 season.
